I forgot to include “want to go to a musty, smoke-filled arcade where playing Street Fighter in a public setting is still relevant”

Nerds and Male Privilege →
A good base for examining the continued alienation and self-destruction of the revitalized fighting game community brought on by guys like Aris. I still question the wording of the term “___ privilege”, but the actual insights are true.
Either the past couple weeks worth of my fandoms have had way, way more misogyny as of late, or I’m just noticing it more. It’s probably...
Anonymous asked: Why is Tali your favorite?
lol whoops sorry acad professor part deux
The Urban Dictionary defines an “otaku” as a Western citizen so obsessed with Japanese art and culture that they’ve forgotten their legitimate country of birth. They live lives so full of video games and cartoons, specifically of one region, that Japan becomes a Mecca of all that is holy. I like Japanese video games and cartoons a lot! I enjoy their specific intricacies you...
Anonymous asked: Blehhhhhhh EA. Have you tried Origin yet? Is it any good, or is it as awful as everyone's saying? I'm kind of afraid of jumping on the EA hate bandwagon just because now everyone hates them for no reason, but it's hard not to when they're just either so oblivious or lacking in intelligence to make competent decisions.
Anonymous asked: Oh! Yeah that's good I guess, though I wish there was a fix for existing games lol.
also, as much as I trust you’ll eventually know what’s good and what’s bad I can’t help but go OH MY GOD STOP LISTENING TO PEOPLE WITH TERRIBLE ADVICE AND UNFOUNDED OPINIONS
Anonymous asked: Wait you can sign up for a service that makes it work? Or does it just track all of the achievements in games without Steam achievements?
Anonymous asked: My biggest pet peeve about the PC/Steam version is that it still has all of the achievements in it, but they don't count on Steam. I got so excited when I got one and then I saw it didn't count on my account and was just so disappointed and it takes a huge chunk of motivation to get them all, just because I can't show it off :|
And if anyone’s going to get into wrestling, let me be your guide! as I turn to the side and lift my arm to extend my cape
Basically, for all Raw’s fantastic promos from last night, the last week had all sorts of hatemongering and misogyny. It can be a weird, disturbed beast sometimes, and it’s good to have a palate cleanser so we can remember who Toshiaki Kawada is and...
Anonymous asked: Who's your favorite squad member in the first Mass Effect? Who do you usually like to take on missions?
notes
The downstairs neighbor has a new puppy named Abby. The same name for my family’s one previous dog!
A KRISPY KREME IS BEING BUILT NEXT TO THE ENTRANCE TO MY APARTMENT COMPLEX HOLY SHIT OH MY GOD LIFE IS INCREDIBLE
DESTRUCTOID UPDATE
Jim Sterling harasses member of fighting game community about her personal life, she refuses to respond, he posts article where he contorts language to make it sound like she responded. She asks him to take it down, and he does only under the condition that he publicly whines and argues about it on Twitter.
That is your recommendation! Because “video games”! Because flashing...
well, fishing for compliments doesn’t work
Anonymous asked: I'm sorry, I can't hear you over the sound of me typing and sending this hehe
calling it: Ichigo’s Dad is the funniest character ever written
Anonymous asked: *flaunts ability to send asks* :P
Man, it would be nice if my fandoms discussed merits in exact detail instead of just idol worshipping by chanting “kung pao bitch.”
okay i can’t send asks for some reason whoops nvm
Anonymous asked: When did you watch Gurren Lagann? :o
Anonymous asked: Ohhhh okay yeah this isn't the same lol it's actually a pretty key plot point and it's useful to push the story and it's referenced again later on I believe! So yeah it's all good! Plus one of my all-time favorite quotes comes from that volume/mini story arc :3
Anonymous asked: Wait why are you worried about it turning into Garden State? I haven't seen that movie so I'm afraid I don't understand lol.
hahahaha David Hayter replied to me on Twitter, what is life
what kind of a world do we live in where you can argue with Ice-T for 2 hours straight, both parties clearly having nothing better to do
Bleach, please don’t turn into Garden State!
Now that I am 22 rather than 16, developing crushes on 14-year-olds seems odd in retrospect. I again apologize to the women of my past!
School newspaper, I am fully prepared to kick your stupid ass.
more pay what you want deals, goodness gracious →
watch me starve and die
I have played a lot of Star Wars: The Old Republic! ”A lot”, and I am only level 17! So I think I’m ready to make a judgment call.
TOR fixes no problems with the MMO standard. Many big name journalists are complaining that there aren’t enough advancements in the genre, a criticism I can understand. You still have to keel seex snow moose like in every other game. The...
Anonymous asked: I didn't even know there was DLC for ME D: lol thanks for that!
Anonymous asked: Oh okay, thanks! Yeah I was actually planning on going back to the Citadel even before Noveria to see what sorts of Spectre goods I could get now that I have a fair amount of credits on me. That and there's a few people I didn't talk to because my Charm/Intimidate levels weren't high enough to really deal with. So that's good to know that going back and doing all of that is...
OH MORE MASS EFFECT KNOWLEDGE
Your Steam version may not have the free DLC pack for the first game. Consult this: http://masseffect.bioware.com/me1/galacticcodex/bringdownthesky_pc.html
Bring Down the Sky introduces the Batarians (which you’ll otherwise not see till the second game), and was free on PC. But because of EA’s stupid bullshit with Steam, the only way to get it is...
Oh yeah, also go ahead and do a lot of side missions and talk to people if you haven’t. Some of that stuff ends up being important or helping out a lot in surprising ways. Mass Effect has always been a series you’ll want to take your time in and explore, not just rush to early completion.
(Though you don’t have to take the Mako out to find every mineral.)
Anonymous asked: Okay so here's my situation: I'm playing Mass Effect. I've completed Artemis Tau and Feros. I'm about to head to Noveria when I get a comm relay from the Citadel, explaining that something's going down on Virmire. As a person playing this game, I've already heard certain...warnings, about Virmire, and how the game really picks up at that point. I was planning on going...
“God, aren’t you even going to kiss her goodbye?”
“…Nope.”
